Bob Enders first became aware of Malawi through Clement while Clement lived with Jim and Sandy Rademaker in his early days in the United States. Bob envisions the Malawi Connection as an opportunity to continue his commitment to working with others towards greater social justice on both a local and global basis.

Diane Harwood met Clement when she was working for the Diocese of Grand Rapids. She is now happily retired but Clement’s dream continues to inspire her. She edits the quarterly Malawi Connection newsletter.

Jim Rademaker was one of the first people to encounter Clement when he came to Grand Rapids in September 1998. Clement's desire to get an education so that he could return home and be an agent of change motivated Jim to help him fulfill his dream.

Sandy Rademaker is Clement Chiwaya's American ‘Mom’ and the namesake for his daughter Sandra. Sandy had never heard of Malawi prior to connecting with Clement. She now has a passion for working towards sustainable change, dignity and hope for the people of Malawi. Sandy works at Aquinas College.

Jim Sak is a member and former President of the Elk Rapids MI Rotary Club. The club has sponsored the construction of a school and water well in Malawi, and its members continue to give financial support on specific projects.

Mary Alice Williams has had an interest in Malawi Connection since first meeting Clement Chiwaya during his student years as an Aquinas College Community Leadership major.
